Fraternal Order of PoliceOhio Valley Lodge 112Cincinnati, Ohio

A Message from the President of                            Ohio Valley  FOPA Lodge #85........

Welcome to the web site of the Fraternal Order of Police Associates, Ohio Valley Lodge #85. If you are already a member of the FOPA, I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks. If you are not a member, then please take a minute to explore and find out what we are all about. We have over 60 lodges serving the great State of Ohio and over 4,000 members, who support the law enforcement community. Our purpose is to support our men and women in blue, by striving to improve their working conditions and to protect their rights through legislation in Columbus, Ohio.

The Fraternal Order of Police Associates is made up of business and professional people from all walks of life. It is a non-sectarian, non-political organization and was founded upon ennobling doctrines of American Democracy in Dayton, Ohio in 1942.

The Fraternal Order of Police Associates (FOPA) is not a "Cops and Robbers" organization, nor do associates perform the duties of a police officer. The Ohio Valley FOPA Lodge #85's interests revolve around law enforcement, and the men and women who have dedicated their lives to the protection of ours.  We set examples of what a citizen should be in our community, and are willing to assist in making law enforcement better in our city, state, and country.

A vehicle bearing the Ohio license plate or decal of an FOPA member tells other citizens and police officers that you are a supporter of better law enforcement.

Many changes have taken place in law enforcement through the tireless efforts of members of the FOPA Lodges throughout the country. These changes have induced a better grade of men and women to join the police force. A police officer is a skilled professional person in their chosen career field.

Members are pledged to foster public respect for the police officers, promote better understanding by the public of the rights, duties, and problems of the police officers, and they should strive in every way within their power to better the conditions under which the police officer serves the public.

There are many benevolent projects conducted by the FOPA lodges. The Ohio Valley FOPA Lodge #85 actively supports legislation, charitable causes, and law enforcement efforts on a local, state and national level.

Many times meetings are followed up by refreshments so that better fellowship can be obtained among the members.

Now it is time to concentrate on growing our membership. I urge all supporters of law enforcement to join our ranks TODAY! It is time for the silent majority to be heard and recognized.

  • Coordination. The FOPA has many programs to keep you involved. We are proud to support many deserving programs.
  • Communication. FOPA Members have accomplished a great deal. Members are kept up-to-date on this web site.  As a member, you can  attend local lodge meetings and state board meetings/annual conferences.
  • Cooperation. Even if you can't be personally involved all of the time, just 'being a member' is important to show support of our Law Enforcement Professionals. Members can officially display Ohio FOPA License Plates.

Please print, then complete our application, which is posted under the "FOPA #85" tab above. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact either the Lodge Secretary, or myself, at any time. Your comments are welcome.
